Captain
Carl Smith
is a fifth generation Southwest Florida native, born in Rubonia,
Florida. He has been fishing the waters of Tampa Bay since he was three
years old with his grandfather. In 1990 he moved to Charlotte County,
bringing with him a life time of fishing experience. When asked why he
chose to live in Charlotte County, his reply is simple, "It's the best
shallow water fishing in the state!" He's not only an expert shallow
water guide, but also a 22 year experienced helicopter pilot for Charlotte
County Mosquito Control and the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office.
Captain Carl specializes in Redfish, Snook and Trout, but has been known to
hook up Snapper and Grouper for his customers! His favorite charter is
where his customers will hook their first Redfish or Snook. His most
memorable charter was when a customer's nine year old son landed a 34 inch
Snook. Captain Carl is equipped with a 2001 21-ft Back Country flats
boat, powered by a 200 HP Yamaha V-Max outboard motor. He uses only
tournament quality light tackle rods and reels, combine that with his expect
knowledge of the water and fun personality to give you the "ultimate shallow
water experience'.
With
a lifetime of Florida "On the Water" experience; Capt Carl has developed the
art of "Florida Native" fishing into a science. Let him share his science
with you on your next Florida Light Tackle Fishing Adventure.
