Capt. Eric Perez  is a native Floridian born and raised in Miami, Florida.  At a very young age he started fishing the canals and lakes of south Florida for largemouth bass, snook and tarpon.  During those days he developed a passion for catching inshore species on light tackle.  He eventually moved on to fishing the inshore waters of Biscayne Bay and the inlets of south and central Florida's east coast.  In the mid nineties he moved to central Florida and took his light tackle skills to the waters of the Mosquito Lagoon and Indian River.  On these waters he has become very knowledgeable of sight-fishing for redfish and gator trout all year long.  He also learned to appreciate what a unique and beautiful fishery the Mosquito Lagoon is and how important it is to preserve it for generations to come.  With this appreciation, he started his guiding career so that he can teach others about this great fishery and how to catch the gamefish that swim in it's waters.

Coverage Area:  East Central Florida and the Orlando Region, to include Mosquito Lagoon, the Indian River and the Banana River.

Species Targeted:    Giant Redfish, Snook, Tarpon, Sea Trout, Giant Jack Crevalle, Drum and Flounder.

Methods:  Capt. Eric is an established Fly-Fisherman and can share his secrets with you.  Behind the poling tower, he can position the Fly Angler to a perfect cast every time.  For those preferring other methods, Capt. Eric is equally versed in guiding his Anglers with Spin or Bait Casting tackle.

Sight Seeing & Nature Tours:  Available for personalized sightseeing & nature tours.  Maximum of three passengers. 

Maximum Anglers:  Two.  May take up to three for an Eco Tour (Sightseeing & bird watching)

Boat: Captain Eric Perez guides out of a Hells Bay skiff, powered by a Mercury outboard.  With the ability to pole in just a few inches of water and run in even less, his skiff allows him to take anglers into the shallows of the Mosquito Lagoon, where bigger boats cannot access....this is where the schools of big redfish call home. 

At a few hundred pounds, the Hells Bay is a great light tackle poling skiff that will allow anglers to get within casting distance of fish, whether it be with a fly rod or with spin tackle.
