"Tarpon" May 2006 "Time"

Chris Jones from Waterford, WI came to SW Fla during "Tarpon Season" a few yrs ago & booked two different "Tarpon guides" with hopes he would at least get a chance to hook-up to his first Tarpon! (no tarpon ever hooked :( Chris decided to try once more but this time he booked w/"Florida Light Tackle Charters", because they have a *NO TARPON NO PAY GUARANTEE*! Chris was guided by Capt. Derrick Jacobsen whom put him all over Tarpon & more hookups than he could handle! You couldn't slap the smile off of Chris's face as he battled his "First Silver King"! After a lengthy fight Chris landed his 130lb trophy & agreed to hand-revive his Tarpon in shallow water, what a thrill..! Shortly after he hooked up again & again & again, & landed two more, then he just had fun jumping several others off the hook, (he was "Whooped")! **Thank You, Florida Light Tackle & Capt. A Breathtaking Boca Grande Island Sunrise, set the pace for a two boat "Tarpon on the Fly" charter! Greg Anderson, Durand Bowan & two of their close fly-fishing buddies spent two days hooking more Tarpon then they ever dreamed of! Together they experienced over 29 Silver King Hookups with the expert guidance from two of our professional "Tarpon-Fly-Captains", Capt. Bobby Goodwin & Capt. Kenny Hyatt! Greg rebooked for 2007 adding extra boats & days in the "Tarpon Capitol of the World", Boca Grande, FL to accommodate even more of their fly-fishing-pals!!!! Their group have been traveling to Alaska the past 8yrs in search of some "Extreme Fly-Fishing"........NOT ANYMORE!!!! |

"Charlotte Harbor Tarpon" Capt. Jimmy Willis & Capt. Scott Roe had a two boat trip with clients, Mike Fay, Louis Kulinger & friends fishing Charlotte Harbor Tarpon! Both boats had plenty of "Tarpon Action" with Mike & Louis grinning from ear to ear showing off these beautiful "Silver Kings"!! While drifting schools of Tarpon using light spinning gear & live bait, you can catch a variety of game-fish, including this beautiful Cobia as well as Sharks!! "Awesome Fun for Everyone" |

Long time client & friend, James Stewart brought his friend Kenton Bohn to experience some all-around fishing in Charlotte Harbor w/Capt. Angel Torres & Boca Grande w/Capt. Jimmy Willis! Their adventures took them from the river to the grassflats "Catching" plenty of Snook then jumping 9-Tarpon on artificials from 30 to 100 lbs but only managed to land this 38 lb juvenile!!! Plenty of thrills for these two!! |

"Life Time Clients" Paul St. Hillaire & his good buddy, Ed visit again for the excitement of the "2006 Tarpon Season"! These two hard core "Tarpon Addicts" can't wait to dive in for some "Extreme Action"! Capt. Derrick put them on plenty of "Monsters" to battle, pictured on top is a 180 lb brute that we turned over to the Tarpon Research Team to tag, draw blood/roe for study to ensure our Tarpon population continues to grow, (they also helped us by keeping the huge Bull & Hammerhead sharks at bay with their boat/outboard while we landed her)! The Tarpon at bottom was 150+lbs, Capt. Derrick & Ed decided to hand revive this one to ensure a safe & healthy release!! "Way to Go Guys" |

"Newly-Weds" Glen & Fheryl Marohn from St. Clair Shores, MI spent their "Honeymoon" "Catching Tarpon"! Glen watched plenty of Tarpon fishing shows & dreamed of battling a "Silver King" one day! That day finally came true when he booked his first Tarpon charter with Capt. Derrick Jacobsen, he battled sum 13 Tarpon but only conquered one. (We even talked Fheryl into battling her own!)
