We had the opportunity to fish with Capt. Ray Culver out of Chokoloskee on the 17th and what a day to remember.  We started out by targeting big snook and we were not disappointed.  We caught and released a dozen snook and probably had that many more break off just because of their brute force.  This was my first guided experience in backcountry fishing and I am now a convert.  Along with getting snook that were between 22-34 inches each, we also hooked on to quite a bounty of goliath grouper with the biggest being close to 50lbs.  Ray was a very personable guide and gave us a little chiding when one of these behemoths broke the line but was also very helpful when educating us on the proper way to fight one of these fish.  He had an
excellent sense of humor, was personable, and very knowledgeable of the
waterways.  We will be fishing with him for years to come.
